Week 14 of the 2025 Salpholda Hockey League opened with fireworks as Exchequers demolished Arkmen 10-0 in a one-sided encounter on Saturday morning, August 16, at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Pitch.

Kick-off at 6:45 am saw fans glued to their seats, eager to witness the second meeting between the two sides after their dramatic 3-3 draw in the first round.

The Bankers carried their momentum from last weekend’s 3-0 victory over GRA into the clash, with their star man Kofi Okyere Quagraine leading the charge. He opened the scoring in the 6th minute from a penalty corner before Akaba doubled the lead in the 14th minute. Quagraine added his second just three minutes later and completed his hat-trick in the 27th minute, making it 4-0 before halftime.

Two minutes into the third quarter, Amertey Joshua made it five with a field goal before Brew Fawaz netted his first goal of the season in the 32nd minute. The goals kept coming as Takyi Ryan (37’) and Fawaz again (39’) pushed the scoreline to 8-0.

Quagraine returned to grab his fourth in the 54th minute, and just before the final whistle, Osumanu Razak wrapped up the rout with the 10th goal.

Reflecting on the emphatic win, Exchequers captain Bempah said; “we came today to overturn the first-round draw and also send a message to the rest of the teams that we are defending our title in grand style. They are not a bad side with a lot of energy, but we studied our first encounter, corrected our mistakes, and worked hard to secure a smooth victory.”

The result makes Exchequers the highest-scoring team in the league, cementing their status as title contenders.
