The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has formally opened the bidding process for the 2027 and 2028 editions of two flagship events: the ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships and the ITTF World Youth Table Tennis Championships.

The World Masters Championships welcomes thousands of passionate players aged 40+ competing in age categories. Building on the strong response to the event, the ITTF recently decided to create an ITTF World Masters Team Championships, to be inaugurated in 2027, while the individual events will be held in 2028.

The World Youth Championships is the flagship finale of the youth table tennis season, bringing together emerging talents from more corners of the world each year.

Bidding procedures start now

ITTF Member Associations, working together with potential Host Cities and Local Organising Committees, are invited to take part in a structured and transparent procedure aligned with internationally recognised best practices.

The bid procedure will unfold in several phases. Member Associations may submit an Expression of Interest for one or both events no later than 28 February 2026. They will then have until 15 March to submit their finalised bids. An evaluation phase will follow, and host cities will be selected on 1 May 2026 by the ITTF Council.

The ITTF World Masters Championships 2026 will take place in Gangneung, Korea Republic, and the ITTF World Youth Championships 2026 will be held in Manama, Bahrain.
