The Kaneshie Electoral Area is abuzz with excitement as the newly commissioned community borehole, funded by Leisure Hands Charity Foundation, is now a reality. The borehole was officially commissioned on Sunday, March 23, and is expected to provide safe and reliable water to the entire community, including parts of Kaneshie.
Hon. Ebenezer Aidoo, the Assembly Member for the area, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all who supported the project. He revealed plans to inaugurate a maintenance committee to oversee the community borehole, ensuring its longevity and effectiveness.
Hon. Aidoo also praised Leisure Hands Charity Foundation for their commitment to addressing the needs of marginalized communities.
“Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, and we are grateful to Leisure Hands Charity Foundation for their support in making this a reality for our community,” he said. Hon. Aidoo noted that the project demonstrates the power of collaboration and community-driven initiatives, saying, “This project is a testament to what can be achieved when organizations and community leaders work together towards a common goal.”

He also revealed plans to construct other boreholes across the community with support from corporate entities.
In an interview with some constituents, they expressed delight at the initiative, calling for more projects to improve their livelihoods. “This is a good project, and we are happy to benefit from it. We want them to give us more of these things. The Assembly Member has done really great for us.”

The community borehole project is a significant step towards improving the lives of residents in the Kaneshie Electoral Area. With the borehole, community members will no longer have to rely on unreliable water sources, reducing the risk of water-borne diseases.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, Okaikwei South Constituency executives, and other dignitaries.
