Kenyan President William Ruto has warned that ongoing protests must cease immediately. The country has been gripped by violent demonstrations, resulting in at least 50 deaths and widespread property damage. Speaking after a church service in Rift Valley’s Bomet County, Ruto emphasized the importance of protecting the nation, life, and property, and vowed to stop the chaos.

Ruto’s administration has faced intense scrutiny despite making significant concessions, such as rejecting the Finance Bill 2024 and dismissing almost the entire Cabinet. However, protests continue, with demonstrators calling for Ruto’s resignation. Ruto stressed the need for resolving issues through democratic means and urged protestors to come forward for talks.

Despite Ruto’s call for dialogue, the youth-led protests persist, demanding more action against corruption and accountability for the deaths caused during the rallies. Ruto reiterated his commitment to ensuring a peaceful and stable nation and promised that the unrest would be brought to an end.
