Gloria Segoe Found Dead After Visiting Boyfriend in Kasoa
A teenage student from Keta Business Senior High School, Gloria Segoe, was found dead in a stream at Tomefa, Ga South Municipality, on June 23, 2025. She had taken a school exeat to visit her sick grandmother in Agbozome, but instead went to see her boyfriend in Kasoa, police investigations revealed.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received a distress call at 10:02 p.m. and retrieved Gloria’s body by 10:42 p.m., handing it over to the police. Her boyfriend, now in custody, claimed he was at work when he heard about the incident. Gloria’s parents have identified her body, and police are probing the cause of her death.
GNFS spokesperson DOII Desmond Ackah confirmed the incident to Adom FM, noting that details surrounding the death remain unclear. The discovery has shocked the Keta community, with authorities working to uncover how Gloria ended up in the stream after leaving school.
The case has raised concerns about student safety and the misuse of exeats. Police are questioning the boyfriend and others to determine if foul play was involved. The investigation continues as the community mourns the loss of the young student.
