KNUST Student Murder Suspect Remanded as New Details Emerge
New information has surfaced regarding the tragic death of final-year KNUST student Joana Deladem Yabane, shedding light on the actions of the main suspect, Daniel Tuffour, who has since been remanded by the court.
A report from KNUST Gazette, an account associated with the university, outlines the events that led to the suspect’s arrest.
According to the report, Tuffour allegedly stole Joana’s electronic devices, including her laptop, in an attempt to cover his tracks. However, his efforts to evade capture were thwarted by CCTV footage.
Following Joana’s disappearance, friends reached out to Tuffour, but he claimed they had parted ways after an argument and that she had taken a different route.
“After committing the crime and making it seem as though some criminals were responsible, he failed to realize that CCTV cameras had recorded his movements,” the report stated.
Further investigations revealed that Tuffour wore the same outfit to an exam after the incident, making it easier for authorities to identify him. A teaching assistant at the Biological Science department spotted him and assisted in his apprehension.
