Kofi Adomah Speaks on Eye Injury: Expresses Disappointment Over Dormaahene’s Silence
Popular Ghanaian broadcaster Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii has spoken publicly for the first time about the eye injury he sustained while covering the Kwafie Festival in Dormaa Ahenkro. The press briefing, held at his residence in Oyarifa, Accra, was attended by his family, who expressed gratitude for the overwhelming public support.
Recounting the harrowing incident, Kofi Adomah explained that he had been invited by the Dormaahene to cover the festival. However, while documenting the event, he received a call directing him to another location.
“As I moved to that location, I suddenly saw a gunman fire in my direction, and I began to bleed in my eye,” he narrated.

Surgery and Recovery
Following the shooting incident in December 2024, Kofi Adomah was flown to Dubai in January 2025 for eye surgery to repair the severe damage. He confirmed that while his recovery is ongoing, the injury completely blinded one of his eyes.
Disappointment Over Dormaahene’s Silence
Addressing widespread speculation, Kofi Adomah clarified that he is not seeking financial compensation but expressed disappointment that Dormaahene Osagyefo Nana Agyeman Badu II had not checked on him.
“I travelled to Dormaa with my team to honour the invitation. I was suddenly shot and began bleeding profusely. I completely lost vision in one eye. Yet, I have not received even a phone call from the Dormaahene,” he lamented.
He added, “I’m not expecting money or compensation—I just think a simple gesture of concern would have been the right thing to do.”
Public Support and Family’s Response
During the briefing, Kofi Adomah’s family thanked Ghanaians for their support and dismissed rumors surrounding the incident. The Angel FM presenter assured his fans that he remains committed to his work despite the ordeal.
