Three suspected armed robbers were killed in a gun battle with the Tema Regional Police Command in Kpone, near Tema, on July 21, 2025, following a distress call about a robbery at a warehouse in the Tema Industrial Area. The police, responding to a report of ten armed men, engaged in a shootout, fatally wounding three suspects, while others fled. Some possibly injured.

A statement by ASP Dede Dzakpasu of the Public Affairs Unit detailed that the Kpone District Command’s patrol team confronted the suspects, recovering a Bruni mod foreign pistol, a locally made double-barreled pistol, and live ammunition.
