Incident Highlights Need for Better Lighting and Safety Measures on N1 Highway.

Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene was recently involved in a motor accident near the Achimota Forest. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2024, when his vehicle collided with the back of a tipper truck on the poorly lit N1 highway.

A quick-thinking reporter at the scene arranged for transportation to the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) for both Kuami Eugene and another passenger. The Achimota Police were also notified and arrived at the scene.

Kuami Eugene sustained a broken wrist and a deep cut on his right hand. The accident spotlights the importance of road safety and proper lighting on highways. Authorities should address the lighting conditions and safety measures on the N1 highway to prevent similar accidents.

The Achimota Overhead area, known for heavy traffic and complex road intersections, requires enhanced safety protocols. All road users must exercise caution, especially during nighttime travel. Road safety is a collective responsibility, and everyone must prioritize safety to avoid such incidents in the future.
