Popular Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, known as Lilwin, has opted to settle his ₵5 million defamation lawsuit with actress Martha Ankomah out of court. The decision was reported on July 31, 2024, following a Case Management Conference held on July 25. The lawsuit arose after Lilwin made derogatory comments about Ankomah in a widely shared video.
Ankomah had sued Lilwin for defamation, seeking ₵5 million in damages, a public apology, and an injunction against further defamatory statements. The dispute began when Ankomah expressed interest in collaborating with Kumawood actors due to their compelling storylines, to which Lilwin responded with a series of insults.
The decision to settle out of court suggests both parties are seeking an amicable resolution. This settlement marks a significant step in resolving the conflict, allowing both actors to focus on their careers without prolonged legal battles. The agreement is expected to include terms that address the grievances of both parties, promoting harmony within the Ghanaian entertainment industry.
