LilWin Reveals $40K Payment to Ramsey Nouah for ‘A Country Called Ghana’

Ghanaian actor and film producer Kwadwo Nkansah, famously known as LilWin, has disclosed the hefty amount he spent to feature renowned Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah in his blockbuster movie ‘A Country Called Ghana.’

In an interview with Zionfelix, LilWin revealed that he paid Ramsey Nouah over $40,000 for his role in the movie. He emphasized that this figure did not include accommodation or feeding expenses. “I paid Ramsey Nouah more than $40,000. There was one actor I wanted to feature, but the amount he charged was too high, so I couldn’t afford it. When I called him, they thought I was Nigerian and wanted to charge even higher,” LilWin shared.

The actor also spoke about the extensive promotional efforts he undertook for the movie, spending over 1 million Ghana cedis. “The promotion I did for that movie is more than one million Ghana cedis. Ghanaians don’t understand promotion. It was because of the promotion that I bought the Benz, and it helped me,” he noted.

LilWin revealed that he invested in over 20 billboards and printed over 4,000 T-shirts for the campaign. “Just calculate the amount of money I spent on that,” he added, highlighting the lengths he went to create buzz for the film.

‘A Country Called Ghana’ became one of the most talked-about movies of 2024, featuring two grand premieres—one in Accra and the other in Kumasi. LilWin’s ambitious efforts in casting and promotion have solidified the movie as a milestone in Ghana’s film industry.
