After an exciting display of athleticism, the first ever Rotary Club of Accra-Premier International, RCA-PI, Olympics officially ended on a good note last Saturday at the Burma camp sports center.

The event powered by the Rotary Foundation attracted over 20 clubs from across the country. It was geared towards building sustainable health, creating network and platform opportunities for supporting humanitarian needs.

Clubs and individuals battled each other in various activities which included 5-aside penalty shootouts, basketball throws, swimming, athletics and kids bun eating.

Captivating on the excitements and the breathtaking moments, the participated clubs and individuals climbed the podium after excelling in their various disciplines.

The overall position saw RC Accra-Premier International and Rotaract Club of Regional Maritime University placing first and second with 15 and 14 points respectively.

RC of Accra Sunrise with 8 points took the third spot whiles RC of Accra Airport came fourth with a total of 6 points.

After amassing 5 points each, RC of Accra East  and Accra Teshie-Nungua both placed fifth respectively.

Speaking after the event, the president of the Rotary Club of Accra-Premier International, RP. Bernard Joseph expressed gratitude to all participants and sponsors for the support and the tremendous efforts exhibited.

He envisaged an exciting event next year with more thrilling packages for participants and Rotarians across the country.

“I want to applaud all the participants for coming in their numbers to make this maiden event a memorable one. This is the first and so we are going to make sure this forms part of our yearly calendar. The companies that supported us in various ways have also done well, without their support, we wouldn’t be here.

“We will put things in place and make sure we have a very much bigger event next year. This is the beginning and we have better plans for all Rotarians as well.’ The president, RP. Bernard Joseph stated.

The governor for district 9104, David Osei Amankwah JNR commended the organizers for the successful hosting of the event.

He mentioned that, all needed materials as well as financial support will be made available across all board for next year’s edition.

The 2024 successful RCA-PI Olympics was made possible with supports from Trans- National Insurance Brokers limited, Thiran Africa limited, Bedrock insurance, Priority Insurance, Decathlon, Risk Management and Advisory Services RMAS, Securisk Insurance Brokers limited, Nero Mineral water, The Experience by Ampofoa and Baobabs.
