McDan Aviation Disputes GACL’s Denial of Access to FBO Terminal

McDan Aviation has expressed disappointment after the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) denied the company access to its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) terminal. In a statement signed by Kwaku Ampromfi, CEO of McDan Group, the company acknowledged its financial obligations but emphasized that significant payments had been made, with additional payments scheduled to resume in January 2025.

McDan Aviation refuted claims that it owes GACL US$3 million, describing such reports as inaccurate. The company highlighted ongoing legal proceedings over a parcel of land acquired from GACL on Spintex Road, stating that payments for the land are on hold pending court resolutions—a fact GACL is aware of.

“It is regrettable that GACL has chosen this course of action, especially given that the matters at hand are unrelated,” the statement read. McDan Aviation stressed its commitment to constructive dialogue and expressed hope for an amicable resolution to the dispute.

The company reaffirmed its dedication to fulfilling its obligations and resolving both the terminal access issue and the legal dispute over the Spintex Road land through continued discussions with GACL.
