McDan Aviation has officially reopened its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA). This follows an agreement with the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) to resolve outstanding financial obligations, the company announced in a press statement on January 20, 2025.

“We are pleased to announce the reopening of our FBO after successfully resolving financial matters with GACL. We appreciate the cooperation of GACL throughout this process,” said Kwaku Ampromfi, CEO of McDan Group.

The reopening comes months after GACL suspended McDan Aviation’s operations due to debts exceeding $3 million. These included unpaid rent and charges related to terminal usage and leased land plots near the airport. McDan Aviation had contested part of the debt, citing legal disputes over one of the plots that delayed full payment.

“Our FBO represents McDan Aviation’s commitment to delivering top-tier private jet services. We are excited to welcome our clients back and provide the exceptional experiences they deserve,” Mr. Ampromfi added.

The private jet terminal offers a luxury lounge, state-of-the-art facilities, and personalized concierge services, aiming to deliver a seamless and premium travel experience.
