A Haslett woman got caught shoplifting in a store full of police officers
The county of Livingston in Michigan — An attempt was made by a woman who was 62 years old to steal merchandise from a Walmart located in Livingston County on Saturday, December 2, during a “Shop with a Cop” event. This information was provided by the Michigan State Police.
According to a press release, there were seventy-five law enforcement officers from various agencies present at the event. Through the generosity of local businesses, the event provides children in the surrounding area with the opportunity to work together with a law enforcement officer to shop for themselves and their families so that they can celebrate the holidays.
According to the release, Walmart employees informed a Michigan State police trooper who was present at the event that the woman was attempting to steal merchandise worth $727.86. The trooper was present with Walmart employees.
According to the police, the uniformed officer followed the woman out to her vehicle, which was parked next to all of the patrol vehicles belonging to the officers who were taking part in the event. The woman, who was from Haslett, was taken into custody during the incident and taken to the Livingston County Jail later.
