Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, popularly known as Michy, has unveiled her aspiration to step into the political arena, declaring it to be the most esteemed profession in Ghana. During an engaging interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Michy revealed that beyond her desire to serve the public, her pursuit of a law degree is fueled by her political ambitions.

When quizzed about her music career’s future, Michy, who recently dropped a new track, shared, “I have a clear vision for my future, which is why I’m pursuing education now. My goals encompass more than just music; I don’t see myself doing this [music] into my 40s or 50s. Hopefully, a path into politics awaits.”

Elaborating on her rationale for embracing politics, Michy highlighted its unparalleled status in the country, asserting that it grants a unique societal standing that can open doors otherwise inaccessible to most. Speaking to the host Kwame Dadzie, she underlined, “It provides a distinct status that can make a real difference. It’s about the status and the platform to positively impact lives.”

The former partner of dancehall artist Shatta Wale also shared her specific political goal: to become a parliamentarian when the time is right. Alongside her political ambitions, Michy’s commitment to philanthropy shines through. She disclosed her involvement in providing meals for around eighty children in her local community every week.

In the midst of her endeavors, Michy has also unleashed a fresh single, titled ‘Hustle.’ As she seamlessly navigates her music career, legal studies, and political aspirations, Michy is poised to leave an indelible mark on Ghana’s socio-political landscape.
