The tour includes Trinidad and Tobago (July 3-4), the first PM visit since 1999, to strengthen historical ties, and Argentina (July 4-5) for talks with President Javier Milei on agriculture, mining, and renewable energy. In Brazil, Modi will attend the BRICS Summit in Rio from July 6-7, discussing global governance, AI, and climate action, followed by a state visit to Brasilia.

Modi’s final stop is Namibia on July 9, his first visit there, to meet President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and push for India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The tour, Modi’s longest in a decade, aims to deepen India’s strategic partnerships and counter China’s influence in Africa, with trade and anti-terrorism high on the agenda.

The trip underscores India’s growing global role, with Modi set to hold bilateral meetings and address parliaments. As India prepares to chair BRICS in 2026, this tour strengthens its voice in multilateral platforms and boosts economic ties across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
