NACOC Nabs Key Suspect In 8kg Cocaine Case
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has confirmed the arrest of Emmanuel Jared Ohene Obuobi, the prime suspect in a major cocaine trafficking case involving 8 kilograms of the substance.
According to reports, the drugs were intercepted at Kotoka International Airport’s Swissport terminal during two separate smuggling attempts on August 13 and 14, 2025. The consignments were bound for the United Kingdom.
Investigations revealed sophisticated concealment methods designed to bypass airport security checks, highlighting the advanced tactics employed by international drug networks.
NACOC carried out an intelligence-led operation that led to the swift arrest of Obuobi. Authorities believe he plays a central role in a broader narcotics network operating between West Africa and Europe.
The suspect is currently in custody and assisting with investigations. NACOC has reaffirmed its commitment to curbing drug trafficking and tightening security at Ghana’s ports of entry.
