192kg of Cocaine Seized in Intelligence-Led Operation
Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a 56-year-old Nigerian national, Uchechukwu Chima, during an intelligence-driven operation at Oyarifa, a suburb of Accra, on March 18, 2025. Chima, who has long been on NACOC’s radar, was found with 192kg of cocaine and 0.42kg of heroin, valued at approximately $2.1 million.
Chima is believed to be the mastermind behind several prior drug trafficking cases in Ghana. NACOC’s swift action removed a significant amount of narcotics from circulation, potentially saving countless lives that could have been harmed by the illicit substances.

This high-stakes operation underscores NACOC’s resolve to make Ghana an inhospitable destination for drug cartels. The commission has reiterated its dedication to protecting public safety and combating the global drug trade.
Field tests confirmed the seized substances as narcotics, and the suspect is expected to face charges under Ghanaian law. The successful operation highlights the importance of intelligence-led efforts in disrupting organized crime.
