The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a 32-year-old woman, Rebecca Afia Naa Dei Kotei, popularly known as “Mother”, in a major operation in Budumburam, Central Region.

The raid, part of NACOC’s nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking and abuse, led to the seizure of several illicit drugs and the arrest of individuals involved in the trade.
Kotei, described as a key figure in the local drug trade, had been evading arrest for a long time. She was on NACOC’s radar due to her activities in dealing with illicit drugs, and the commission had received several complaints about her nefarious activities. The operation seized quantities of suspected cannabis, tramadol, and other controlled substances, along with items believed to be linked to drug peddling.

NACOC officials are processing the suspects for court, and the commission has assured the public of its commitment to making Ghana a drug-free nation. The operation demonstrates NACOC’s resolve to tackle drug trafficking and abuse in the country.
