Nana Kumasah Krampah II, the Omankrado of Gomoa Asempanyi and Nyimfa Division Omankrado in the Central Region, has been elevated to a new position within the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council. He has been appointed as the Amankra-Kumahene (Deputy Chief Protocol) of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council by the Omanhene of Gomoa Assin Traditional Council, Obirifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobeah II.
This appointment marks a significant milestone in Nana Krampah’s traditional leadership journey. As the Deputy Chief Protocol, he is expected to play a key role in promoting the traditions and customs of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council. However, Nana Krampah has already set the tone for his new role by declaring war on drug abuse among the youth in his area.
“I urge the youth to put their destiny into their own hands and fight for a better future for themselves rather than destroy it with drugs,” he said.
In an interview with the media, Nana Krampah expressed concern about the impact of drug abuse on the youth, particularly the use of cannabis. “The use of illicit drugs, especially cannabis, can ruin the lives of our youth,” he warned. He appealed to stakeholders to join the nationwide fight against drug abuse, saying, “We must all come together to save the lives of our youth and help them become responsible future leaders.”
Nana Krampah also pledged to support the Gomoa Assin Omanhene and other chiefs to help develop Gomoaman. He promised to stay away from unnecessary chieftaincy disputes and focus on promoting the development of his area. “I will work with the Omanhene and other chiefs to develop Gomoaman and promote the welfare of our people,” he said.
The appointment of Nana Kumasah Krampah II as the Amankra-Kumahene of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council is a significant development for the area. With his leadership, the community can expect a renewed focus on development, tradition, and the welfare of its people.
Gomoa Assin Akyempim Traditional Area being the largest within the Central Region, the Nyimfa Division has 13 towns, and with the current position of Nana Kumasah Krampah II, his duties supersede 165 towns and villages.
