The National Ambulance Service celebrated its 20th anniversary in style over the weekend, hosting a successful corporate games at the Accra Academy Astro turf.
The event brought together four teams: National Ambulance Service, Best 11 FC, OB FC, and Ghana National Fire Service. The participants engaged in various disciplines, including soccer, volleyball, tug of war, and more.
The men’s football final saw Ghana National Fire Service emerge victorious, defeating National Ambulance Service 2-1 after full time to claim the ultimate trophy. In volleyball, Ghana National Fire Service and National Ambulance Service dominated the women’s and men’s categories, respectively.
The winners of each discipline received trophies and medals, acknowledging their outstanding performances.
Professor Ahmed Nuhu Zakaria, CEO of the National Ambulance Service, expressed gratitude to participants for upholding the event’s integrity.
“We are grateful for the display of sportsmanship and camaraderie throughout this event,” Professor Zakaria said. “Promoting healthy lifestyles is essential, and initiatives like this encourage our staff and partners to prioritize wellness.” He added.
According to Professor Zakaria, the anniversary planning committee has outlined numerous activities across the country to commemorate this milestone.
“This sports event marks the beginning of our 20th-anniversary celebrations. We have a series of activities planned, including community outreach programs, health walk among others, aimed at enhancing our services to the nation.” He stated.
