In a press release dated November 25, the Ministry denied any involvement of its officers or those from the National Intelligence Bureau in the incident. “No officer from the Ministry or the National Intelligence Bureau was involved in the alleged abduction of Sylvia Baah. Meanwhile, the Ministry has initiated investigations into the circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction,” the statement clarified.

The Ministry further assured the public that those found culpable would face the full extent of the law upon the conclusion of investigations. It also dismissed the newspaper’s claims, urging the public to “treat the allegation by the Herald Newspaper with the contempt it deserves.”

Sylvia Baah was reportedly abducted near her residence in Accra on November 21, 2024. However, the Ghana Police Service announced on November 22 that she had been rescued and reunited with her family. The Ministry’s ongoing inquiry aims to uncover the truth surrounding the reported incident.
