The party’s candidate, James Gyakye Quayson, emerged victorious with an impressive 57.56 percent of the votes, defeating Charles Opoku of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Bernice Enyonam Sefenu of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG).

To kick off the Thank You Tour, the NDC has planned Muslim prayers at the Central Mosque in Breku, the district capital, on Friday. This gesture aims to acknowledge and appreciate the support received from the Muslim community in Assin North.

On Saturday, July 8, there will be two Thanksgiving Services held at the SDA Church and Saviour Church, both located in Breku. These services will provide an opportunity for the NDC to express gratitude to the various religious groups that played a crucial role in the by-election victory.

In a compassionate move, the NDC will also visit the victims of the Assin Dansame accident later on Saturday. This visit demonstrates the party’s commitment to supporting and empathizing with the local community during challenging times.
