Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, founder of the defunct Groupe Nduom Bank, has announced plans to undertake “strategic actions” aimed at restoring the bank’s license. This follows a nationwide tour assessing the impact of the bank’s closure on its customers and communities. The second phase of the “Bring Back GN Bank” campaign recently concluded in northern Ghana, with Dr. Nduom calling on the government to reinstate the bank’s license.
During a press conference, Dr. Nduom stated that the strategic actions will be executed in October and November, although details remain confidential. He assured supporters that these actions are intended to strengthen the case for GN Bank‘s license restoration. Dr. Nduom also refuted claims that the campaign is politically motivated, emphasizing that the focus is on reinstating a financial institution that served as a lifeline for many Ghanaians.
The campaign has received widespread support from market women and other customers who have expressed their desire for the bank’s return. Dr. Nduom remains optimistic about the outcome, noting that discussions with political figures, including NDC flagbearer John Mahama, have been promising.
