An eleven-member executive committee has been officially sworn in to lead the Ghana Skaters Association (GHASA) for the next four years, with Mr. Johnson Kwaku Gameli Kportüfe taking the helm as President.

The new leadership team includes experienced individuals such as Mr. Prosper Ashiquaye Doku, the Secretary-General, and Lawyer Devine Kweku Asigbetsey, a member of the electoral committee who administered the oath of office.

The team also features Mr. Godfrey W. Amarteifio as 1st Vice President, with additional Vice Presidents representing four different zones: Mr. Reginald George Quartey (Zone 1), Mr. Andrew Bampoe-Parry (Zone 2), Mr. Emmanuel Lartey (Zone 3), and Mr. Eric Fordjour (Zone 4). Mr. NANA Yaw Quansah will serve as Deputy Secretary General, Mr. George Bamfo as Treasurer, Mr. Solomon Anim-Owusu as Athlete Representative, and Ms. Josephine Darkwah as Women’s Commissioner.

The newly elected executives, united in their vision, have committed to promoting and expanding the sport across the country. They have expressed a strong desire to collaborate with corporate partners to further develop skating in Ghana, with several initiatives set to be introduced in the coming weeks.

The Ghana Skaters Association, formerly known as the Federation of Roller Sports, underwent a significant transformation following its Annual General Meeting in January 2023, where the association’s name was changed, and an interim management committee was established. This led to the development of a new constitution and the organization of the recent online elections.
