The recently appointed Acting Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, Mr. Benjamin Arthur, has reassured his predecessors, Mr. James Dadson and Alhaji Sulemana Mahama, that he is dedicated to ensuring their substantial efforts in establishing a robust land administration system are not in vain, but are utilized effectively.

During a farewell event held to honor the former Executive Secretaries on August 23, 2023, Mr. Arthur expressed his deep appreciation for the invaluable work carried out by his predecessors. He likened their accomplishments to the removal of obstacles from bare land, making his forthcoming responsibilities seem much smoother.

Mr. Arthur expressed optimism that, with challenges minimized and significant groundwork already completed, he can build upon their success to realize the goals and ambitions of the Lands Commission. He took a moment to acknowledge Mr. James Dadson for his guidance during their time working together and thanked Alhaji Sulemana Mahama for his continuous support and guidance over the years.

In turn, outgoing Executive Secretary Surv. James Dadson extended gratitude to the Commission for recognizing and celebrating his contributions, as well as for their unwavering support during his tenure. He expressed hope that the same level of support he received would be extended to his successor, enabling the continuation of the Commission’s positive trajectory.

Alhaji Sulemana Mahama, the retired former Executive Secretary, conveyed his appreciation to the event organizers for acknowledging and commemorating his service. He offered sage advice to both the incoming Executive Secretary and the other staff members: “Stay true to yourself, stay true to your God, and stay true to the Lands Commission.”

Mr. Alex Quaynor, the National Chairman of the Commission, rallied the Commission’s management and staff to brace themselves for forthcoming challenges. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing adequate resources to support an even more effective land administration system for the country. As the Commission continues its vital role, this collective effort aims to facilitate smoother land administration processes for the nation.
