Lagos Gears Up for All Africa Music Awards 2025, Unstoppable Africa
Nigeria has been selected as the host nation for the 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), set to take place in Lagos from November 25 to 30. The African Union Commission and AFRIMA organizers made the announcement jointly at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, highlighting Nigeria’s vibrant cultural scene.
Themed “Unstoppable Africa,” AFRIMA 2025 will showcase Africa’s musical talent on a global stage. Lagos was chosen for its advanced infrastructure, including world-class venues, reliable media networks, and robust security arrangements. The city’s history of successfully hosting international events and its warm hospitality further solidified its selection.
The awards will open for nominations on May 27, 2025, and close on August 8, 2025. Organizers anticipate over 1,600 nominees and 2,300 production crew members, with more than 60,000 delegates and visitors expected to attend. The event promises to be a significant gathering for Africa’s music industry, fostering collaboration and celebration.
AFRIMA 2025 will be broadcast live to a global audience, reaching over 400 million viewers through 109 television stations across 84 countries. This extensive coverage underscores the event’s role in promoting African music and culture worldwide, amplifying its impact beyond the continent.
