Nigerian Singer Tiwa Savage files complaint over alleged harassment and threats by Davido.

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, professionally known as Tiwatope Omolara Savage, has submitted a petition to the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos State against fellow musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido. The petition alleges threats to her life and actions that violate her fundamental human rights.

The petition, dated January 9, 2024, accuses Davido of threatening Tiwa Savage, particularly after she posted a picture of one of his ‘baby mamas,’ Sophia Momodu, on her Instagram story. Tiwa Savage claims that Davido sent messages to her manager, expressing dissatisfaction with her actions and making derogatory remarks.

The singer further states that Davido warned her to be careful in Lagos, suggesting potential harm. Tiwa Savage has raised concerns about online and offline harassment, stating that the actions of Davido could be viewed as a direct threat to her rights to life, privacy, and dignity.

The petition refers to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015, emphasizing the alleged unethical actions by Davido.

The feud between Tiwa Savage and Davido gained attention on social media when both artists unfollowed each other on Instagram. Speculations arose regarding the strain in their relationship, potentially linked to Tiwa Savage’s growing friendship with Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s first child, Imade.

Tiwa Savage’s ex-husband and talent manager, Teebillz, also issued a warning to Davido against disrespecting his family in light of the ongoing issues between his ex-wife and the musician. The submission of the police petition marks a significant development in the publicized dispute between the two Nigerian artists.
