The STEMinist Conference 2025, organized by Nova Impact, took place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Kofi Annan ICT Center in Accra. The event brought together over 100 women in STEM to foster empowerment, networking, and inclusion in the technology space.

The conference featured influential speakers, including Celestina Aidoo, Executive Director of Nova Impact, who emphasized the importance of gender inclusivity in STEM.
Priscilla Nana Yaa O. Opoku, Tech & Digitalization Advisor and Regional Lead at the Embassy of Denmark, delivered a speech on “Accelerating Action: Building an Inclusive STEM Ecosystem for Women.”
“We must create opportunities for women to thrive in STEM, and recognize the value they bring to the table,” Opoku emphasized.
A keynote address by Selawoe Akusika Ayetor, Programs Associate at Sherise Tech, focused on “Accelerating Action: Empowering Women & Girls in STEM Learning.” A panel discussion on “From Awareness to Action: Supporting Women at All Stages of STEM Careers” featured accomplished professionals from various fields.

During the conference, Nova Impact celebrated the graduation of 20 young women who completed a tuition-free Digital Marketing Fellowship. The organization continues to champion youth development and tech inclusion, particularly for marginalized groups.
Nova Impact has called on stakeholders, organizations, and partners to join them in supporting and empowering women in STEM. “Together, we can drive meaningful change and bridge the gender gap in technology!” organizers stated.
They also expressed gratitude to partners including NIIT (Jackson Institute), IOT network Hub, SheRise Technology for the tremendous inputs.

The STEMinist Conference 2025 was a significant step towards promoting gender inclusivity in STEM and empowering women to take on leadership roles in the tech industry.
