A routine journey turned alarming late Sunday evening when a passenger bus operated by OA Transport Services unexpectedly caught fire near Nsawam on the Accra-Kumasi highway. The bus, which had departed Accra at around 9 p.m., was en route to Techiman in the Bono East region when the fire broke out, causing panic among passengers.
Fortunately, all passengers managed to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported. However, in the aftermath, frustrations have grown over OA Transport’s response, especially regarding the lack of clear communication and assistance in addressing possible personal losses from the fire.
While the transport company quickly arranged for a replacement bus to take the stranded passengers to their destination, several passengers voiced concerns over what they saw as inadequate support. Many are now seeking clarity on how OA Transport will address any losses of personal belongings, which were left in the fire-damaged vehicle.
