Steelton Borough police officer faces multiple charges in sexual assault case.
A police officer from the Steelton Borough Police Department, identified as Justin Hain, has been charged with rape and related offenses following allegations of sexual assault against a woman. The 38-year-old officer, who was sworn in less than two months ago, faces charges including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault, indecent assault with forcible compulsion, and indecent assault without consent.
According to court documents, the incident took place at the victim’s home in Lykens Borough, where Hain is accused of sexually assaulting her. The victim, who knows Hain personally, reported the assault to Pennsylvania State Police. The affidavit reveals that the officer approached the woman in her home, pulled off her towel, and assaulted her after she expressed her objection.
The victim repeatedly told Hain to stop and resisted throughout the assault, hitting him in an attempt to fend him off. Hain is alleged to have pinned the woman to the couch and assaulted her while she was unable to move. After the assault, the victim contacted the police once Hain left for work, and she went to a friend’s house.
Hain was arrested and faces incarceration in the Dauphin County Prison, with bail set at $50,000. The preliminary hearing for the case is scheduled for January 17. The officer, listed as a patrol officer on the Borough of Steelton’s website, has been charged with serious offenses, marking a troubling incident within the local police force.
