Mr. Kwame Appiah Danquah, president of the Pig Farmers Association of Ghana (PFAG), was recognized for his exceptional leadership with an honorary award at the Africa Pig International Conference (APICON) 2024.

The prestigious award was presented to him on the final day of the two-day conference, held at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana, Accra, on October 12, 2024.

The APICON2024 brought together prominent stakeholders in the pig industry, aiming to promote pig production across Africa and globally. 

Upon receiving the award, Danquah expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, saying, “This recognition is not just an honor for me, but also a testament to the tireless efforts of our dedicated team at PFAG. We will continue to strive for excellence in promoting Ghana’s pig industry.” 

Danquah seized the opportunity to advocate for increased collaborations between pig farmers in Africa and worldwide. He emphasized, “Unity and cooperation are crucial for our industry’s growth. Let us work together to share knowledge, best practices, and resources to propel Africa’s pig industry to greater heights.”

The PFAG president’s call to action resonated with conference attendees, who acknowledged the importance of collaboration in addressing common challenges and capitalizing on opportunities.
