The Pharm D House Officers of 2022 have publicly refuted claims by Dr. Armoskoh, a campaign team member for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who alleged that they had received their due allowances. In a press release shared by GhOne TV, the officers clarified that they have yet to receive any mandated compensation for their year-long housemanship, which they describe as essential compensation, not discretionary funds. The statement emphasizes that these funds were legally earned and are crucial for offsetting financial strain caused by prolonged non-payment.

“Our work, directly supporting patient outcomes, is done with the same level of responsibility as that of medical doctors and other healthcare professionals in training,” the officers stated, highlighting the emotional and financial distress caused by delayed payments.

In a call to action, the officers urged the Ministry of Health and relevant authorities to expedite the release of their funds and cautioned government representatives against misrepresenting the issue. The group also expressed openness to constructive dialogue to establish a transparent payment process for future cohorts.

In June 2024, 322 Pharm D officers had formally threatened legal action over unpaid allowances if the matter remained unresolved, a step that underscores the urgency of their plea.
