President commends GEA for collaboration in post-COVID economic growth initiatives

Accra, Ghana – President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially inaugurated the ultra-modern office complex built by the Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) in Accra. The President commended the association for its pivotal role in collaborating with the government to dialogue and provide essential inputs into post-COVID-19 economic growth programs.

Acknowledging the GEA’s unwavering support, President Akufo-Addo highlighted its crucial role in guiding the government to incorporate the interests and sentiments of employers in policy formulation during and after IMF negotiations. He noted that these efforts have contributed to macroeconomic stability, disinflation, and the elimination of market uncertainties.

President Akufo-Addo urged the GEA to continue working with the government to identify and address challenges that might impede the country’s economic progress. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the GEA, the government, and organized labor to tackle national business and labor issues.

The President commended the GEA for championing interventions aimed at deepening social dialogue and maintaining a peaceful industrial relations environment, essential for enterprise sustainability, investment attraction, a stable labor market, and overall national development. He reiterated the government’s commitment to creating an environment in which businesses can thrive and fulfill their social responsibilities.

President Akufo-Addo encouraged employers to fully utilize the new office complex for networking, information sharing, and the development of innovative ideas. He praised the GEA as a true partner in advocating sound economic and social policies, promoting best labor practices, and providing invaluable support to businesses of all sizes.

The new office complex, named ‘The Employers House,’ symbolizes progress, innovation, and inclusive prosperity. It reflects the shared commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous business community in Ghana, showcasing employers as the economic backbone driving development, innovation, employment, and wealth creation.

Minister for Employment, Labour Relations, and Pensions, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, praised the new office building as a significant step toward promoting industrial peace and harmony. He commended President Akufo-Addo’s presence at the event, highlighting the government’s commitment to social partnership for national development.

GEA’s President, Mr. Daniel Acheampong, emphasized that the office complex signifies the organization’s identity and purpose. It will serve as the central nerve of GEA’s operations, providing a conducive environment for employers to convene, strategize, and make decisions to boost business competitiveness and shape the future of industry in Ghana.
