Senior Public Servants at Ridge Face Eviction by March 3
Over 80 senior public servants, including directors, deputy directors, and technocrats from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), have been served eviction notices to vacate their government-assigned apartments at Ridge.
According to information obtained by GhanaWeb, the eviction affects approximately 11 blocks, each containing 8 flats, totaling between 80 to 88 occupants.
An official notice titled “Office of the President” was posted on the buildings, instructing residents to vacate by 1:00 PM on March 3, 2025. The notice reads:

“Notice is hereby served to the occupants of this accommodation to pack out of this facility. Occupants have ten days to vacate the premises. Due Date is Monday, 3 March 2025, by 1:00 PM. Occupants are to note that no extensions will be granted.”
The Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG (Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana), Dr. Isaac Bampoe Addo, confirmed the eviction reports. In an interview with GhanaWeb, he stated:
“We have just been told, so we are liaising with the chief director to actually appreciate what is happening. In due course, we would come out with a statement.”
The eviction is expected to displace hundreds of people, including family members living with the affected public servants.
Some residents claim that attempts to evict them intensified following the John Dramani Mahama administration’s assumption of office. While no official confirmation has been made, accusations point toward members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) being behind the eviction process.
CLOGSAG leadership is currently engaging with the Ministry of Works and Housing to understand the reasons behind the mass eviction and explore possible resolutions.
