Suntreso Police Arrest Two for Armed Attack
The Suntreso District Police Command arrested two suspected armed robbers, Issah Abdul, 22, and Abdul Rahman, 20, for a robbery at Alignment, Kwadaso Estate, Ashanti Region, on July 10, 2025. The suspects, armed with a machete and riding an unregistered blue motorbike, stole a handbag containing a Samsung smartphone worth GH¢2,000 and other items.
A key clue emerged when Abdul dropped his Samsung phone at the crime scene. The victim recovered it and handed it to police, leading to the suspects’ arrest at Sofoline. A search uncovered five mobile phones and GH¢1,690 in their possession. The suspects confessed and guided police to the hidden machete used in the attack.

The robbery occurred around 8:30 p.m., with the suspects targeting a lone pedestrian. The victim, unharmed, reported the incident immediately, aiding the swift police response. The arrests follow a rise in petty crimes in Kwadaso, with residents praising the police for their quick action but urging more patrols to deter robbers.
Abdul and Rahman are in custody, assisting with investigations. Police are probing whether the recovered phones link to other robberies in the area. The suspects face charges of robbery under Ghana’s Criminal Offences Act, with a court appearance scheduled for July 15, 2025, at the Kwadaso Circuit Court.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about armed robbery in the Ashanti Region’s urban areas. The Suntreso Police urged residents to report suspicious activities, emphasizing their commitment to community safety as investigations continue to ensure justice for the victim.
