Ruby Bediako, the wife of Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, has expressed concerns over the disappearance of her vote in the just-ended 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. Nana Kwame Bediako, who ran as an independent candidate, cast his ballot alongside Ruby at the University of Media Arts and Communication (UniMAC) GIJ Campus polling station in the Korle Klottey constituency.

Rumors swirled after reports suggested Nana Kwame Bediako received only one vote at the polling station, prompting Ruby to question the integrity of the system. “It wasn’t just me. I think it was the whole family that went. I’m heartbroken because I think the system failed us. Where is my vote, people? I don’t know where my vote went,” she said during an interview.

Despite her disappointment, Ruby expressed optimism, stating, “We are all very happy. Ghana won, and that’s the most important thing. Let’s all celebrate and support our President-elect.”

The Electoral Commission declared John Dramani Mahama the winner of the presidential race on December 9, with 6,328,397 votes. Nana Kwame Bediako secured 84,478 votes, representing 0.75% of the total valid votes cast.

While Nana Kwame Bediako’s campaign did not achieve electoral success, the outcome highlighted key issues, including voter trust and the credibility of the electoral process.
