Ghanaian artiste Safo Newman has addressed fan speculation surrounding his viral studio meeting with rapper Sarkodie, confirming that no song was recorded during the session.
The buzz began in February 2024 after a video surfaced of the two artistes together in Sarkodie’s studio, fueling rumors of an impending collaboration. Speaking on Hitz FM on November 27, Safo Newman explained that the meeting was not intended for recording music but rather a personal visit to express gratitude to Sarkodie for recognizing his work.
“I thought it wasn’t enough to thank him in his DM. I wanted to meet him personally to show my appreciation. When he invited me, he was in the studio rehearsing, so that’s what happened,” Safo explained.
Despite the lack of a recorded project, the ‘Akokoa’ hitmaker remains optimistic about a future collaboration with Sarkodie. He revealed that Sarkodie expressed interest in working together, though no plans have been finalized yet.
“When I went there, he said we would do something, but at that time, nothing happened. I believe it will happen at the right time,” Safo added, dispelling rumors of an unreleased project.
Fans of both artistes can now temper their expectations while holding out hope for a collaboration in the future. Safo Newman reiterated that the meeting was purely conversational, emphasizing the respect and admiration he holds for the rap icon.
