Shatta Wale Was Invited, No Controversy – Sammy Flex Clarifies
Shatta Wale’s manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, has dismissed rumors that the dancehall star was snubbed at the lavish birthday celebration of businessman Richard Nii-Armah Quaye.
No Feud Between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy
Speaking on his podcast on March 25, 2025, Sammy Flex refuted claims that Shatta Wale’s absence was due to an event rule preventing him from being in the same space as Stonebwoy.
“I have seen headlines claiming the man said Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy cannot be at the same place, so he picked the bigger one, which was Stonebwoy. This is false. There is no rule or regulation barring the two from performing together,” he explained.
Despite Was Not Involved
Sammy Flex also debunked rumors linking Dr. Osei Kwame Despite to Shatta Wale’s absence, clarifying that the event had nothing to do with him.
“Some people are saying Shatta Wale was left out because of Despite. That makes no sense. The party wasn’t for Despite. It was for someone who has a personal relationship with Shatta Wale,” he stated.
No Demand for Davido’s Paycheck
Another rumor suggested that Shatta Wale declined to perform because he was not offered the same payment as Nigerian superstar Davido. Sammy Flex called this claim completely false.
“The rumors that Shatta Wale demanded the same fee as Davido are all lies,” he emphasized.
Shatta Wale Was Officially Invited
Providing further clarity, Sammy Flex confirmed that he personally verified Shatta Wale’s invitation.
“I was in London when I got a call from someone in the event production space. She told me she had Shatta’s invitation, so I directed her to one of our team members. When I returned, I confirmed that the invitation had indeed been received,” he recounted.
With this clarification, Sammy Flex dismissed all speculations, reaffirming that Shatta Wale’s absence was not due to any controversy or snub.
