Six security services are set to compete in the maiden Security Services Table Tennis League scheduled for Friday, 5th September, 2025 at the Hathramani sports hall, Accra sports stadium.
They include Ghana Army, Ghana Navy, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Fire Service, and GRA-Customs.
This first edition which is being organized by the Security Services Table Tennis Association, SESTTA, is geared towards igniting passion among players and celebrating table tennis excellence across the various services.
According to the organizers led by the president, David Carboo, the league would serve as a platform to keep service players and teams active and propel them ahead of the upcoming National SESSA games.
“So basically the game has been out of play for a very long time and the players were becoming dormant and inactive, and so we all decided to come together as one body to make it a reality”. He stated.
“Another aspect was also to keep our players in form for pending security services competition that is SESSA GAMES, finally most of the players too are in the national team and there’s no competition amongst them so it’s gonna be a very good exercise for them”.
As the maiden event, David Carboo indicated that he is expecting a very competitive league, and it would be a dream come true for his team to organize a successful event.
“I’m expecting a very competitive competition, do or die affair, and also it will be a dream come true for me being able to achieve this initiative, to put all of the security services players under one umbrella”. He said.
The organizers expressed gratitude to the president of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu, Technical Director, Mr. Tachie-Mensah Jnr, Jason Onyame, CEO Divine Travel and Tours, Dr. Ackon, and sports leaders of the various participating security services.
