Ghana’s dancehall king, Charles Nii Armah Mensah “Shatta Wale” is set to entertain sporting fans at the opening ceremony of the 2023 African Games tonight, Friday, 8th March, 2024 at the University of Ghana sports stadium, Legon.

The ongoing African Games which commenced on 3rd March has attracted over 5000 participants across 29 countries.

The top dancehall mogul is expected to put on display his charming, energetic and artistic skills.

Highlife and afrobeats singer and writer, King Promise would also make sure “Galdems whine dem waist” with his charming and sweet lyrics. Currently on the trend with his “Terminator” track, Gregory Borteye Promise Newman is set for another entertaining spree.

Highlife “godfather’s” Ebo Taylor and Pat Thomas would enlighten spectators in attendance with their old but golden tunes.

Kamo Mphela, a South African dancer and singer specializing in amapiano genre has also been billed for the event.

Kamo brings a unique blend of vocal and performing talent to the opening ceremony. She is South African’s ‘Queen of Amapiano,’ 

Ghanaians and sporting enthusiasts in attendance would witness her extensive background in singing and performing.

Expected to grace the occasion is the president of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Minister for youth and sports, Mustapha Ussif among other top dignitaries.
