Annual arts festival by GEPA and Media AK highlights diverse pool of artistic talent

Accra, Ghana – The “Sound Out Premium Exhibition,” an annual arts festival organized by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) in collaboration with Media AK, has opened in Accra. The exhibition aims to provide maximum exposure to talented Ghanaian artists, offering a platform to showcase their works, share narratives, and contribute to the discourse surrounding the arts.

The fourth edition of the exhibition, which began last Friday and will run until January 21 next year, features the works of 23 Ghanaian artists at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra.

Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, the CEO of GEPA, emphasized the incredible power of arts to transcend boundaries, communicate across cultures, and tell stories that resonate with the soul. She stated that the Sound Out Premium Arts Exhibition serves as evidence of the diverse talent within Ghana’s borders, showcasing the potential for local artists to make a lasting impact on the global stage.

Encouraging patrons to appreciate and support the artworks, Dr. Asare highlighted the economic potential within each stroke of the brush, sculpture, and piece of artistic expression. She reaffirmed GEPA’s commitment to supporting the arts as a strategic sector for export development, aiming to create an environment where Ghanaian artists can thrive both locally and internationally.

Amarkine Amarteifio, speaking on behalf of the participating artists, expressed appreciation for the steps taken by Ghanaian artists in collaboration with GEPA to build and promote the local arts industry through exhibitions. He emphasized the importance of such showcases in contributing to green basking moments and encouraged the public to reconsider, re-think, and re-imagine the private well-being represented by each painting displayed.

The Sound Out Premium Exhibition stands as a testament to the vibrant artistic landscape in Ghana, providing a platform for artists to connect with the public and contribute to the growth of the arts sector.
