The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams has lauded Ghana’s badminton players for their recent successes across multiple international competitions.
In an interview, Adams emphasized the commendable performance of the athletes, whose victories have elevated Ghana’s sporting reputation globally. The Minister also praised the efforts of the Badminton Association of Ghana, led by its president Evans Yeboah, for promoting the sport and planning to extend it to reach new regions such as Oti. He noted the remarkable impact of young players, including some from Sweduru who continue to showcase exceptional talent both locally and abroad.
He highlighted the repeated playing of the national anthem during medal presentations, describing it as a proud moment for the nation; “it felt as if we were the only country participating,” he said with pride, noting that countries like Egypt and Morocco were also present.
“Badminton is one sport we can easily spread across the country,” Adams said. “The young ones are doing wonders, and with continued support, we can achieve even greater success.”
