Stevie Wonder, the acclaimed American musician, has officially become a Ghanaian citizen, receiving his Certificate of Citizenship at a ceremony at the Jubilee House, Ghana’s seat of government, on Monday, May 13. The event coincided with Stevie Wonder’s 74th birthday, adding to the significance of the occasion.

Kow Essuman, legal counsel to President Akufo-Addo, congratulated Stevie Wonder on social media, announcing his new citizenship and welcoming him to Ghanaian society. Stevie Wonder, born Stevland Hardaway Morris, is celebrated worldwide for his contributions to music as a singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer.

His diverse influence spans multiple genres, including R&B, pop, soul, gospel, funk, and jazz, solidifying his legacy as a pioneering figure in the music industry.
