HoodTalk Music Festival Amplifies Voices for Change
Celebrated Ghanaian artiste Stonebwoy will headline the HoodTalk Music Festival, performing for free to support a significant cause. Set for May 9 at Accra’s Independence Square, the event aims to raise $14 million for constructing five pediatric clinics across underserved regions in Ghana. Organised by DreamChild Foundation in partnership with Virtual Hub, this festival merges music with a mission to enhance healthcare access for children.
Stonebwoy, known for his commitment to social causes, is playing without charge as part of his broader mission to uplift the underprivileged. Through his Livingstone Foundation, he has championed efforts in education equality, healthcare for accident survivors, and youth empowerment. His participation in the festival is a continuation of his dedication to community advocacy.
The festival transforms tragedy into tribute, honouring the victims of the May 9, 2001 stadium disaster in Accra, where 127 lives were lost. It serves as a powerful platform for discussing critical issues like climate change, sustainable development, and African innovation, driven by the energy of music and art.
HoodTalk Music Festival, recognised globally, will be broadcast in over 250 countries, underscoring its reach and impact. With a theme of “Connecting Music, Heritage, and Humanity,” the 2025 edition seeks to empower youth and celebrate cultural diversity. The organisers have called for local and international artists to join the fundraising, projecting an audience of over 20,000 music fans.
