Mamelodi Sundowns have added firepower to their attack, following the recent signing of former FC Strasbourg striker, Lebogang Mothiba.
The 29-year-old joins a star-studded Sundowns side that is chasing what has been an elusive second TotalEnergies CAF Champions League gold medal since their 2016 triumph.
The signing marks Mothiba’s official return to Africa after spending a decade in France where he first joined LOSC Lille’s U19 side before moving onto other French sides Valenciennes FC, Troyes as well as FC Strasbourg.
Mothiba, who will also be aiming at reclaiming his position at Bafana Bafana adds onto the South African champions’ January signings of Jayden Adams, Argentine international, Lucas Suárez as well as Keanu Cupido who have all gelled well under new coach Miguel Cardoso.

The former Esperance coach who guided the Tunisians to silver-medal finish in last season’s TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will have Mothiba as an option when they take on his former side in the quarterfinals of the competition next month.
Mothiba’s arrival to the Tshwane outfit is a clear statement of intent of the club’s strong ambitions of a second continental title, while remaining unstoppable in the domestic scene with an eighth consecutive league title well in reach.
Sundowns face Esperance at home in the first leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League on 1 April, before traveling to Tunis for the second leg on 9 April.
They currently lead Orlando Pirates in the title race at home.
