A significant security breach occurred at the Sefwi Boinzan Police Station, where 20-year-old Yaw Tawiah, alias Jah Boy, managed to escape from custody. Tawiah, who was being held on charges of conspiracy to rob, robbery, and unauthorized possession of firearms, fled after tricking Constable Alice Owusu Agyemang while she was providing water to him and his accomplice.
Chief Superintendent Samuel Ntosoh, the Juaboso Police District Commander, has initiated an investigation into the escape. Preliminary reports indicate that Tawiah pushed the officer and escaped into nearby bushes. Despite a manhunt involving patrol teams combing the area, Tawiah remains at large.
Authorities have now called on the public for assistance, enlisting informants to help recapture the fugitive. The search continues as police intensify efforts to bring Tawiah back into custody.
