Suspect Arrested After Electric Vehicle Comes to Halt.

An alleged Tesla thief in Los Angeles found their daring escapade cut short when the stolen electric vehicle’s battery unexpectedly ran out of juice during a high-speed police chase. The white Model S, valued at approximately $75,000 vehicle, was reported stolen around 11:35 p.m.

The dramatic pursuit unfolded as law enforcement officers chased the stolen Tesla from Koreatown to Hollywood, via the 101 Freeway. However, fate intervened when the electric car’s available range dwindled lower and lower. Finally, on the 4600 block of Melrose Avenue in East Hollywood, the Model S sputtered to a complete halt. The car belonged to local Fox 11 reporter Susan Hirasuna, who had been tracking its location using the Tesla app.

The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed to the public, was promptly arrested. Meanwhile, the Model S was impounded for further investigation. It’s a bizarre twist in the world of car thefts—one where the thief’s getaway vehicle literally ran out of power mid-chase.

This incident serves as a reminder that even the most advanced electric vehicles have their limitations. Perhaps the suspect should have considered charging their ill-gotten Tesla before embarking on their daring escapade.
