Former President Donald Trump is safe following a shooting incident at his West Palm Beach golf course, where the Secret Service fired at an armed man suspected of attempting an assassination. The suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, was allegedly carrying a rifle and aimed it toward Trump while he was golfing on the course’s fifth hole.
Trump was immediately escorted to safety by his protective detail. Secret Service agents fired at Routh after seeing him raise his weapon, and he was quickly apprehended after attempting to flee. Authorities are treating the case as a potential assassination attempt, marking the second incident involving a threat to Trump’s life in two months.
The Secret Service, working with local authorities, continues to investigate the incident. Trump expressed his gratitude for the agents’ swift actions and confirmed that he was unharmed, adding that the Secret Service had “done a great job” protecting him.
